Archer Hadley Exceeds Wheelchair Challenge Goal by a Long Shot

When Archer Hadley puts his mind to something, he does it. The senior at Austin High School, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, has overcome yet another challenge with both confidence and humility.

“Oh my gosh, I can’t even express…” said Archer. “I feel so loved and cared for by the whole entire community.”

Back on October 27, Archer said he was put in a wheelchair to do special things on this earth each and everyday. That was the day he rolled out his wheelchair challenge. Teachers and students could be nominated by someone for $20 and had to spend an entire school day on two wheels, or donate money to the cause.

Archer’s goal was to raise $40,000 by Christmas break to cover the cost of installing several automatic push button doors on campus. The idea came to him when he had to wait outside in the rain one day because no one was there to open the door.

Cash and checks have been pouring in. Tuesday, Archer announced his grand total of a little more than $82,000 dollars.
