A Henrico girl living with cerebral palsy will soon go on the ultimate family vacation to Disney World. Her family never got to go on vacation until the nonprofit Baking Memories 4 Kids stepped in.
Allie Jones lives in the West End, but the hospital has been a second home since the day she was born. “She’s been hospitalized every single year for a minimum of a month every year,” says Amanda Jones, her mother. “We’ve never, never been on a family vacation.”
But that changed Wednesday morning when Frank Squeo, the founder of Baking Memories 4 Kids, showed up at the Jones’ front door in a fire truck. This wasn’t a call for an emergency, it was a call to surprise this deserving family. “You’re going to Disney World and Sea World and Universal with your whole family!” Squeo told Allie, who’s 5.
