Heroes of the DayAugust 2017

Each month, we receive hundreds of submissions from families all over the world, sharing their stories as well as photos of their children. If you would like to feature your child as the Hero of the Day, send us a photo of them to our Facebook page.

This is my hero Mikey. He is 4 and has spastic quad cp. As you can see his smile is infectious!! He loves to eat, smile, laugh, and play with his big brother! This little spitfire lets nothing hold him back. He is the light of our lives and teaches us that no matter what life hands you just go with the flow and be happy!!

I would like to nominate my daughter Samantha Rae for hero of the day. Sammie is our sunshine!! She recently turned 11 and just had her first day at Middle school. Sammie has a heart of gold and shares lots of love and smiles every single day. She is a true blessing to our family. Sammie is in cheer and she loves to cheer on our school teams!

This is my son Jose Nathaniel, who is 12 years old. He has cerebral palsy.

Hi this is my super warrior Jhanna Mae Española. Jhanna is 3 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. She is Brave, Loveable, Sweet and a Fighter.

Hi, this is Angel and he is 9 years old, he was born at 28 weeks, weighed 2.1lbs and had his first surgery only 2 weeks after he was born. Angel is a fighter, but such a sweet boy at the same time, I would like to nominate my son for Hero of the Day, since he is so strong and can manage to have a smile on his face regardless of any pain he might be feeling. He inspires us and makes our world better with just a smile.

This is my daughter, Ashley, who was diagnosed with spastic diplegic CP at 15 months of age. She is now 18 years old and entering her senior year of high school. Although she struggles with muscle spasms, fatigue, and developmental delays, Ashley has a larger than life personality, LOVES the Jonas Brothers (whom she met in 2013 thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation), and can light up a room with her beautiful smile!

This is my 28 year old Brother Dion Brown. He recently came to live with me after the unexpected passing of our mother. He’s a joy to be around and keeps a smile on his face. His loves listening to soul music, which includes his favorite song on repeat “Let’s Groove Tonight” by Earth, Wind and Fire.

My husband and I are blessed with a little boy who has CP. His name is Noah and he’s 3 years old. He is unable to sit alone, walk, and had some motor delays. We just recently learned how to army crawl! Yay Noah!

This is my son Jamerious. He was born on January 1, 2014 at 31 weeks and weighed 2 pounds and 9 ounces. He spent 8 weeks in the NICU and has cp and epilepsy and also has been diagnosed with autism. He’s very smart and I love him with all my heart and wouldn’t trade him for the world. This little guy brought joy to my life and he is loved very much by his sister Tyrashia and brother Dantez. I just thank God for allowing me to give birth to my little man!

Treytan is my hero He’s 15 years old and no matter what obstacles he faces, he knows how to keep a smile on his face and keep fighting!

This is my son Jan Franz Refugio 2.5 years old with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy athetosis. Fighter Franz is our hero and a brave and strong warrior. I learned a lot from him, he shows me the true meaning of love and the importance of life. I know our journey is not easy but together I believe we can win it, that we can beat cerebral palsy.

My daugther Fabiola has spastic diplegic PC. She turned 15 years old a couple of months ago, and she is so happy and blessed!

My son, Essa Khan, just graduated from Pimmit Hills Preschool in Fairfax county. He is really smart, caring, loving, and everyone loved him at school. He will start kindergarten in September!
