Each month, we receive hundreds of submissions from families all over the world, sharing their stories as well as photos of their children. If you would like to feature your child as the Hero of the Day, send us a photo of them to our Facebook page.
I would like to nominate my son Dylan today. He has been through so much this year with the surgeries and emergency trips to the hospital. He is always smiling and happy. He’s whole world since the day he was born has been a challenge and yet he smiles and laughs every single day. God did create a miracle and he gave him to me. I don’t even think I deserve him. But I’m glad he did and I hope I’m doing everything he wanted from me. Dylan will always be my number one and never want for anything. I’m so glad I have this network to share our stories. Love to all!!
I would like to nominate my daughter Michaela as a hero of the day. She was born 3 months premature, has CP and a seizure disorder. None of that slows her down though and her shirt really says it all. She is outgoing and funny and makes friends so easily. She shows other kids that being special needs doesn’t define who you are. She is changing the world everyday by breaking down the stigma of having a disability. This picture was from earlier this year when she started 7th grade!!!
I would like to nominate Vadan Patel (Kishu) as hero of the day. He is 6 years old and has CP from birth. He is an inspiration to all. He has a smile that just lights up the room. I have been his caretaker for going on 4 years.
I would like to nominate Khayden Ali for hero of the day. Khayden was born premature and diagnosed with CP. He is three years old with an attitude way beyond his years. He goes to therapy every week in hopes that one day he will walk. He always has a bright smile on his face even when he is in pain. He fills our heart with joy everyday. He enjoys playing with his dog Bentley and watching sports. I think we all can learn a little from Khayden. He is the true definition of a Hero.
I nominate my son Justin to be hero of the day. He is 28 years old. Has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and microcephaly. He enjoys computer games, music, singing, dancing in his wheelchair, and joking around. He graduated from high school in 2007 with sunshine diploma. He attends ADT program and is a social butterfly. He’s my hero.
Hi everybody, this is my Grandson Johan (Doodie). Blessing comes in all Shapes, Forms & Fashions and for 8 years he has been a blessing for us. The Dr’s said he wouldn’t be with us for more than a year but Grace & Mercy proved them wrong. He showed us that he’s a fighter. He’s Our True Warrior!!!
My name is Victory David and I turned 9 in October. I have IQ of 84 (able educated) and I am able to walk. My Mom trusts in God Jesus Christ that He will work well on my brain in my growth and development and also in my motor sensors. So here I am, son of my mom, son my God Jesus Christ…all the glory be to The God!
This is my son Cody. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of 6 months, he is non-communicative but does walk with a walker. He has been through 4 surgeries including one on his back. This little man has gone through so much and through it all he’s been smiling and happy as can be. He is my hero, and I’m honoured that I get to call him my son!
I’d like to Nominate Freya as my favorite super hero. She’s been on your page before and has progressed leaps and bounds since then. She’s now walking independently, stringing sentences together and starting mainstream school in just under a month. Things can still be difficult for her but she never ever lets it stop her, she’s fearless and knows no limits
This is my hero, my daughter Alyssa Poirier!! She has cerebral palsy. We were told she would never speak, but she beat the odds and is a little chatterbox!! She wakes up with that gorgeous smile and goes to bed with that same gorgeous smile. She loves life and is never a quitter. She has completed school and is now in her own home with 2 other beautiful roommates. She now attends a day program. I love her with all my heart and she is MY HERO!!!!
My daughter Sophie is my hero every day. She just wrapped up a month of intensive therapy and is well on her way to sitting and standing unassisted. Sophie was born at 1 lb 6 oz and has a double whammy of CP (slight hemiplegia and diparetic diagnosis). She is 3 years old and lights up the room wherever she goes.
I would like to nominate my son Carson as hero of the day! He was born at 27 weeks and has CP on his right side as well as Epilepsy caused by a grade 4 bleed after birth. He turned 11 on August 6th and just received his Blue/black stripe belt in Karate! He doesn’t let his challenges stop him!
I would like to nominate my son Trevor for hero of the day! He was born 3 lbs 12oz. He’s now a junior in high school and he’s on the honor roll, principals honor roll and even got on the presidential honor roll. Even got a letter from the president for his good grades! I’m a very proud momma.
This is my hero! Braiden is my 7 yr old grandson and has schizencephaly. He truly amazes with his smile and the relentless courage! He faces many struggles but is blessed with amazing parents and family support!
This is my brave son Xiann. He fought his battle when he was just 3 weeks old. My heart was broken when the Dr. confirmed he has acute subdural hemmorage with a 50-50 chance to live. I pray hard to God to give us more chances to provide him all he needs to keep fighting. Now that he is 3 years old, I can see that his illnesses really affect his whole body as he can’t sit on his own, stand alone or communicate. After all this tragedy, I’m still grateful to God for his second chance at life.
