Founded in 1991, The Parents’ Place was created by parents of children and youth with disabilities to help other parents and families facing similar challenges. Today, The Parents’ Place serves families of children and young adults from birth to age 22 with all disabilities.  The Parents’ Place. 

The Parents’ Place is staffed primarily by parents of children with disabilities and works in coalition with many statewide disability organizations. Our staff  help families obtain appropriate education, health care, and services for their children with disabilities; work to improve education and health care for all children; train and inform parents and professionals on a variety of topics; and connect children with disabilities to community resources that address their needs.
