Cerebral Palsy Legal Rights and Help

Parents should seek legal help if they suspect a birth injury or medical malpractice caused their child's cerebral palsy. We are families whose pregnancy and delivery didn’t go the way the pregnancy books and birthing classes told us it would. We suspected medical mistakes and birth injuries were to blame for our child’s cerebral palsy, and knew we needed legal help. Our searches for the “right” law firm independently led us to the doctors and lawyers at MyAdvocates. They found the answers to our questions and won settlements that will take care of our children for the rest of their lives. This law firm was truly a lifeline for our families. We fully understand why our attorneys were selected as Best Lawyers in America and the My Advocates firm was named as one of the country’s Best Law Firms by U.S. News & World Report.

CP Family Network is a reflection of our desire to share our experiences with others, so they too can make the “right” choice and find peace of mind. Here is our advice:

Obtain your medical records. Whenever you go to any doctor or hospital, always get and save your medical records. One of our families who suspected a problem tried to get the medical records and it took months! When the mother finally got them, she was told the records had been under lock and key.

Find an experienced cerebral palsy lawyer. That is why we chose Giles H. Manley, M.D., J.D., F.A.C.O.G. who is a Board Certified OB/GYN. He has over 20 years experience and delivered over 2,000 babies. He served as both Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Area Medical Director in Baltimore for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (the physician group of Kaiser Permanente). He decided to become a lawyer to help keep birth errors from being repeated. He works with MyAdvocates to provide comprehensive representation for victims of medical malpractice and families affected by CP.

KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS UNTIL YOU GET THE TRUTH.
