Founded in 1963 by 12 families whose children had intellectual disabilities, Abilities United (formerly C.A.R, Community Association for Rehabilitation), ), a not-for profit 501(c)3 organization, now serves a diverse group of individuals in the San Francisco Bay Area, who have developmental (autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, and intellectual disability) and physical disabilities or are at risk of developmental delay.
Abilities United provides a lifetime of services to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. During our 50 year history, we have served over 65,000 people in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties
