AIT for You: Berard Auditory Integration Training
Contact: Terrie Silverman
Does your child have difficulty coping with specific sounds, struggle with understanding what he/she hears, hum or talk to himself/herself, have trouble with articulation, sound flat without inflection, have trouble understanding what you say, or shut down or struggle when there is much background noise? Any of these symptoms may be an indication of imbalanced hearing, auditory processing challenges, hyposensitive (decreased sensitivity) or hypersensitive (increased sensitivity) hearing. This imbalance in hearing ability can create auditory confusion, language delays, articulation problems, behavior problems and other complications. Auditory Integration Training (AIT) is a ten day, non-invasive therapeutic technique which trains people to hear all frequencies more evenly, to improve in the processing of auditory input, etc.
