Always Wanted A Riding Experience (A.W.A.R.E.) Ranch – San Marcos TX
A.W.A.R.E. Inc., (Always Wanted A Riding Experience) is a 501(c)3 non-profit established in 1986 that offers therapeutic horseback riding and sports riding for children and adults with physical, mental, and/or emotional disabilities. Our goal is to improve their quality of life by offering opportunities for therapy, exercise, recreation, competition, and improvements in self-esteem.
Riding for people with mental and/or physical challenges has grown to become one of the most recognized forms of progressive therapeutic exercise and recreation. Therapeutic riding helps integrate both the body and spirit of the student in order to improve their cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being. It is a beneficial form of therapy that helps to develop self awareness, self confidence, and self esteem, while also improving joint mobility, muscle strength, posture, balance, and coordination.
