The Illinois Art Therapy Association (IATA) is an organization of professionals dedicated to the belief that the creative process involved in the making of art is healing and life enhancing. It was established in 1974 so art therapists, art therapy students, and other interested professionals could gather to exchange information and expertise concerning the therapeutic use of art.
