The Arc Gateway, Inc – Pensacola Florida
The Arc Gateway serves more than 900 children and adults. Programs range from early intervention services, pediatric therapy and child care to retirement programs for senior citizens.
Day programs include basic academic classes and work opportunities at Arc and throughout the community.
Residential programs include six group homes in the community and support for individuals living in their own homes.
The Pearl Nelson Child Development Center provides early intervention services and pediatric therapies.
The Pollak Training Center provides adults with basic education classes, computer courses and art instruction, as well as offers training and jobs through the shredding work floor and the Arc Gateway Plant Nursery.
Pollak Industries provides training and jobs through the production of plant sleeves, survey stakes and concrete products. Community Based Employment connects people with jobs at the I-10 Welcome Center, the I-10 weigh stations, or enclaves at Armstrong World Industries and Gulf States Recycling.
Employment Services helps people find jobs in the community and succeed at work.
The Senior Adult Program at Bayview Senior Center provides health, social and leisure activities for senior citizens. Supported Living and In-Home Support ensure that individuals receive the assistance that they need to live in their own homes in the community.
Group Homes provide opportunities for people to live in the community while
receiving support and companionship.
Transportation
Provides transportation from homes to the appropriate day program. Social Activities schedule recreational activities, such as dances, bingo and bowling.
The Arc Gateway is sponsored by the United Way of Escambia County; the State of Florida; Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Department of Children and Families Developmental Disabilities Program, Agency for Healthcare Administration and the Department of Health Children’s Medical Services “Early Steps” Program.
