"The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham has been working to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities since 1962. Our goal is simple: To assist you in finding the best services within our community for your special needs individual.

Members include parents, professionals, persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, and concerned citzens.
The staff and volunteers work to minimize the effects of intellectual disabilities. Intellectual disabilities should not be confused with mental illness.

The Arc is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.
We believe every person with an intellectual disability has the right to live, learn and work in the most normal and least restrictive environment possible."
