Created in 1924, the mission of the Baltimore County Department of Health is to promote health and prevent disease

through education, advocacy, linkage to resources, and treatment to improve the quality of life for Baltimore County

residents. Our vision is healthy people living, working, and playing in Baltimore County.

Administers entitlement & benefit programs such as:

• Maryland Children’s Health Insurance Program (MCHP)
• Women Infants and Children Food Supplement Program (WIC)
• Partnership Program
• Provides investigative, regulatory and oversight function in areas such as, communicable disease outbreaks, rabies exposures, animal nuisance complaints, health care facility inspections, mental health core service agency providers and federally funded substance abuse treatment programs.
• Provides clinical and case management services to at-risk populations in areas such as: family planning, immunizations, HIV/AIDS, high-risk infants, infants and toddlers, cancer screenings and treatments.
