Blind Industries and Services of Maryland
Established in 1908 by the Maryland General Assembly as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Blind Industries and Services of Maryland's (BISM) purpose is to positively change people's attitudes about blindness. Each year we provide programs and services that serve over 2000 blind Maryland citizens.
BISM employs 400+ exceptional associates at our eleven facilities in Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia and Kentucky, where we manufacture the highest quality products. Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM) is a unique not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to positively change people's attitudes about blindness. We do this by offering comprehensive rehabilitation programs, diverse employment opportunities, and services for blind and low vision people of all ages.
Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM) offers free life skills rehabilitation programs for blind and low vision people of all ages. Our mission at BISM is to provide each student with the ability to achieve self-sufficiency, personal growth and independence.
