Brockton Area Transit (BAT)
BAT’s Para transit service, known as dial-a-bat, began operation in 1977. As one of the first coordinated Para transit systems in the nation, dial-a-bat provides transportation to disabled and elderly persons throughout BAT’s service area as well as to medical facilities in Boston. Coordinated efforts provide service utilizing private operators, councils on aging, taxi, chair car and livery providers. BAT, throughout its network of transportation providers, serves a number of human service agencies and private businesses under contract. BAT runs buses along 14 routes in Brockton, as well as routes to the Ashmont M.B.T.A in Dorchester, to Stoughton, and to West Bridgewater. Senior fare is half price.
