Child Find is part of the federal Individual with Disabilities Education Act.  Child Find is a way for the State Department of Education and the local school districts to find children who may need special education services.  Child Find is a way to help parents know what to do if they think their child may have a special learning problem or disability.  If you suspect your child may have a learning problem or disability you should contact your local school board office and ask for the Child Find Coordinator or call the phone number listed above.
Services may include: Free Screening to learn if the child should be tested.  If screening indicates, an evaluation is provided to determine the type of help your child needs. If the evaluation finds the child needs special services, services may include free special education instruction, speech services, occupational therapy services, physical therapy services and/or social work services
