"The annual summer camp presented by the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest, Camp Discovery, is held in August each year.  The Camp is located at the Camp Fire USA’s Camp Killoqua on beautiful Crabapple Lake just east of Lake Goodwin in Snohomish County (Stanwood and Everett), WA.  Children will experience archery, rock climbing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, arts/crafts, campfire games and much more. EFNW’s Camp Discovery 2011 was attended by 56 Campers and 39 Volunteers! Campers and Volunteers spent three nights and four days enjoying the beautiful camp grounds at Camp Killoqua while participating in all the camp activities provided by Camp Discovery.
The Camp is for children with epilepsy age 7-16 for which there is no charge.  Siblings are also invited to attend Camp Discovery.  One sibling is allowed at no cost and additional siblings are at a cost of $125 per child.  Parents are encouraged to be Camp Counselors and participate in this life experience with their children.  Other volunteers are also welcomed to help as Camp Counselors and in other capacities. Parents will be required to provide one-on-one attendant care for children with special needs unless the parent accompanies the child during Camp. Volunteers are required to submit a Volunteer Registration Form and background check will be conducted by EFNW in order  to be approved as a Camp Counselor or volunteer. EFNW has the right to refuse volunteer applications based on background check and ability of volunteers to be responsible for children and their safety. Two nurses are on site at all times during Camp Discovery.  Camp Discovery serves children from Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Montana."
