Camp Grace Bentley – Special Needs Summer Camp – Burtchville MI
Camp Grace Bentley hosts campers with a range of physical and mental challenges. Campers ages seven through sixteen are invited to sign up for a nine day session beginning late June and running through mid-August. Before admittance, each camper is carefully screened to ensure that Camp Grace Bentley is best suited for his or her needs.
CAMP GRACE BENTLEY IS MUCH MORE THAN A SUMMER CAMP. It's a place where kids create a lifetime of memories. Develop a greater sense of independence through new adventures and working with others. And a magical place in the world where kids with special needs are encouraged to be themselves.
For more than 80 years, Camp Grace Bentley has given kids with special needs a special summer.
What types of children is Camp Grace Bentley unable to serve?
The camper must be able to function on a 3-1 camper to counselor ratio.
Camp Grace Bentley can not serve children with severe behavioral or emotional problems.
The following conditions are ones that necessitate care which cannot be adequately handled by the camp health or counseling staff:
Suctioning, colostomy, tracheotomy, urostomy, gastronomy tubes, apnea, injections, ongoing oxygen, diabetes/insulin supported, ventilator dependency dicubitl
There are many other health conditions which will necessitate individual evaluation. Please provide as much information as possible so that our medical screening committee can evaluate the applicant.
