Camp Scherman is owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of Orange County. Recognized as one of the top camps in California, Camp Scherman is fully accredited by the American Camp Association (acacamps.org) and was awarded Best Overnight Camp by ParentingOC for 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016.

Our camp staff are professionally trained, energetic and chosen for their strong character, program management and organizational skills. Staff members receive extensive training in handling issues and concerns, positive communications, camping and outdoor skills, and health, safety and emergency procedures.

Recognized as one of the finest camps in southern California, Camp Scherman is a perfect setting where visitors can disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with nature to enjoy relaxation and outdoor recreation.

Situated on 700 pristine acres in the San Jacinto Mountains, near Idyllwild, Camp Scherman is close to home and less than two hours from all southern California counties. Visitors to camp enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor meeting areas, comfortable accommodations, and unique outdoor venues for groups large and small to pursue physical, spiritual and educational interests.
