The Scott Carver Dakota Community Action Partnership (CAP) Agency’s vision is to create a strong community with healthy individuals and families, quality education, safe and affordable housing, and work that dignifies. Our mission is to assist and empower people to achieve social and economic well-being by providing services in partnership with our communities.  Annually, we provide 50,000 individuals with the assistance needed to achieve social and economic well-being. The Scott Carver Dakota CAP Agency is one of 28 community action agencies in the state of Minnesota and is part of a national network of over 1,000 agencies.  We offer 26 programs and services to individuals of all ages living in Scott, Carver and Dakota counties. These include Education, Head Start and Early Head Start. Energy Programs which include Weatherization, Energy Assistance, Conservation improvement and energy related repair, Family Services offer Childcare Resources & Referral, Crisis Nursery, Carver & Dakota Health Family Program, Senior Services and Community Services.

The Scott Carver Dakota CAP Agency’s Crisis Nursery provides up to 5 days of day care or 24 hours of consecutive care for children. Additionally, counseling, mentoring, and support are provided for parents to assist in resolving their crisis.
A crisis is any situation where a parent is unable to care for their child(ren)’s needs such as in instances of mental or physical health concerns, housing problems, domestic violence, loss of employment or childcare and other coping difficulties.
