Chamber of Hope – Charity providing Free Hyperbaric Center for Children, Inc – FLORIDA
We are an independent and unique charity that provides mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT) using portable chambers at our Center to children free of charge. The children we treat come to our Center from all over Florida, as well as many other states and from abroad. Typically, we provide 40 sessions per child, and often an additional 40 sessions during later return-visits. We happily continue treatments as long as a child improves and scheduling permits.
The Center operates solely on donations from the public and receives no insurance or government funds. All donations are welcome, no matter the amount, and are 100% tax deductible.
Our organization has pioneered a new direction with HBOT for children. We use state-of-the-art, high-end, portable hyperbaric oxygen chambers to treat children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other neurological disorders.
Treatments with the HBOT have been so successful that the first portable chamber was purchased in 2000.
Our chambers operate at 1.3 ATA, delivering oxygen at a concentration of 90% pure with a 10-liter flow. Under Florida law, mHBOT can be administered without the need for licensed operators or a physician’s prescription. We administer mHBOT in addition to whatever regimen an attending physician has prescribed for the child/patient.
mHBOT treatments are one per day, usually one hour per treatment, for a 40-treatment schedule (treatment regimen may sometimes vary from case to case). Those families from afar who do not have local accommodates may use the facilities of this area’s three Ronald MacDonald Houses and those children receive two mHBOTs per day.
We are in the process of opening the nation’s first mHBOT-Center for Children, with all children receiving free mHBOT treatments.
