The Clayton County Parks and Recreation Department provides citizens a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities serving all ages, interest, and levels of physical ability. With 32 parks and numerous facilities throughout Clayton County, the Parks and The Clayton County Recreation Department is home to over 896 acres of parkland, three swimming pools, community centers, gymnasiums, playgrounds, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, multi-purpose trails, and a nature preserve. We encourage active lifestyles and strive to promote overall health and wellness by providing affordable leisure activities that encourage participation by all citizens of Clayton County. The Recreation Services Division provides a variety of community programs dedicated to enriching the lives of citizens. At the Clayton County Therapeutic Recreation Program Therapeutic Recreators serve individuals with physical and mental disabilities (Down's Syndrome, stroke patients, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, amputees), the elderly, individuals with chemical dependence, youth at risk, etc.  For more information about Therapeutic Recreation programs contact one of your nearest Recreation Centers
