The Center for Community Partnerships (CCP) is a direct services and outreach arm of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University. In operation since 1985, the CCP is funded through grants, fee-for-service, and gifted contributions, allowing the Center to continue providing and improving vital individualized, consultative, and educational services that focus on increasing access to employment, education, independent living, recreation, and the community as a whole for youth and adults with disabilities and/or challenges. Our comprehensive, customized services help individuals identify and learn to use accommodations, compensatory strategies, modifications, and other supports that assist in the achievement of their chosen life pursuits. Our consultative and educational services assist P-12 schools and institutes of higher education regarding accommodations and supports for students with disabilities as they pursue their educational goals. The Center also serves as a training ground for occupational therapy graduate fieldwork students as they develop skills in community-based practice. Through ongoing research and program evaluation activities, the CCP continually provides innovative, cutting-edge ‘best practices’ that support improved outcomes for youth and adults with disabilities as they pursue their life goals.
