"Daring Adventures is an exciting program that offers seven outdoor recreation opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities and their non-disabled peers.             Adaptive Cycling
Pedal your way through the beautiful bike paths at Rose Mofford Sports Complex. We provide handcycles, tandem bikes and recumbent cycles for those with mobility or visual limitations. Friends and family are welcome to bring their own bikes or rollerblades and join us. After completing this program, you will be able to rent the cycles on your own! We meet at Rose Mofford Sports Complex located 9833 North 25th Avenue. Program fee includes use of bikes and safety gear.   Adaptive Kayaking
Gliding freely across the surface of the water, seeing wildlife and recreating with friends are some of the best reasons for kayaking. Single and two-person ‘sit-on-top’ kayaks are available. This program is ideal for people with mobility and visual limitations. Kayaking is offered 2 times a year, with each session running approximately 6 weeks. Program fee includes equipment and round trip transportation from Telephone Pioneer Park to Lake Pleasant.     Sled Ice Hockey
Sled ice skating and hockey are exciting and enjoyable sports for individuals with disabilities. With use of the adjustable adaptive ice sleds, sled skating and hockey provide excellent opportunities for exercise and cardiovascular conditioning, not to mention the thrill of flying on the ice. Whether someone is a sled hockey pro or a beginning skater, a sled is a recreational tool that can be used with everyone. There are approximately 3 seasons a year.   Cross-Country Skiing
Come join us for cross-country skiing at the Flagstaff Nordic Center! This program is offered once a year with a weekend stay in Flagstaff. We offer weekly conditioning sessions to get you ready for skiing. The program fee includes conditioning sessions, lodging, transportation to and from Flagstaff, instruction, trail passes, and all ski equipment. Sit skis are available for people with mobility limitations.

Stay connected with nature by spending time day hiking at numerous trails throughout Phoenix. Guided hikes of various lengths and difficulty are offered in the spring and fall. Hiking wheelchairs and other assisted hiking chairs are available.
Backpacking
Challenge yourself by joining us as we head off the beaten path and hike into the Arizona backcountry. A three day / two night backpacking trip is offered once a year. Participants will carry a full pack with their sleeping bag, clothing, tent and food for the trip. Progra includes the use of backpacks, tents, treking poles, backpacking stoves, sleeping bags and transportation to and from our backpacking destination.
