Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Martial Arts
Martial Arts for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers martial arts seminars for a variety of clubs serving people who are deaf and hard of hearing including private businesses, public and private institutions of education, and martial arts dojos from across the country. The program also offers licensing for deaf and hard of hearing martial arts instructors who are already advanced martial arts practitioners. Mr. Dave Nemeroff, the program's founder, has been training in the martial arts for over 26 years and is an Asian accredited 9th Degree Black Belt.
The Soke also conducts weekly, ongoing classes throughout the school year for children with a broad spectrum of physical and cognitive challenges (including Autism Spectrum Disorders). These classes are conducted on Wednesdays beginning February 1st from 3:30-4:15pm. Classes are held at the JCC in Manhattan.
