The Different Needs Foundation – Grants and Support for Special Needs
The Different Needz Foundation has a mission to provide grants to individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and organizations that support them to provide medical equipment and/or services. The Different Needz Foundation helps individuals with developmental disabilities obtain the necessary equipment and medical services they need to have the best quality of life. Grant applications are made available in January of each year.
Grant awards are announced each year in May. The Foundation considers future needs and provides payment for medical services or equipment directly to the provider. In seven years, the Foundation has awarded over 260 grants to individuals with developmental disabilities and the organizations that support them totaling over $200,000. The Foundation has approved grants for services and equipment such as; physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical equipment, adaptive toys, summer camp and other necessary items.
The Foundation’s reach has grown to include recipients across the country. The Foundation only awards grants once a year. Grant applications will be available starting January 2018.
