Different Needz Foundation
The Different Needz Foundation, a 501(C)(3) charitable organization, was created in 2009 and was inspired by the life of Luke Jordan. Luke was born with many physical disabilities and medical conditions. Despite his disabilities, Luke was able to bring out the best in those who knew him. The Different Needz Foundation helps individuals like Luke to obtain the necessary equipment and medical services they need to have the best quality of life.
In a short three years, the Foundation has awarded seventy-seven grants to individuals with special needs and the organizations that support them totaling over $60,000.00. The Foundation has approved grants for services and equipment such as; physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical equipment, a toilet chair, a wheelchair, a wheelchair lift, summer camp and a tandem bike which was featured by Team Myles in the 2011 Cleveland Triathlon. Grant recipients were originally mostly from northeast Ohio. Currently, the Foundation's reach has grown to include recipients in Ohio, Wyoming, Massachusetts, Florida, Maryland, Indiana and California.
