Eagle Mountain Billings
Eagle Mount offers recreational opportunities to any individual with a disability of any age. We currently offer eight programs: arts & crafts, bicycling, day camp, equestrian, golf, social night, ski, and swim as well as a new walking program in collaboration with the YMCA on Monday evenings. When Greta and Bob Mathis, a United States Air Force General, retired to Bozeman, Montana in 1984, they started the first Eagle Mount organization. In 1988, the Eagle Mount program in Billings began with an adaptive ski program at Red Lodge Mountain Resort. Eagle Mount Billings became an independent affiliate in 1994 and has grown to include programs in arts & crafts, bicycling, day camp, equestrian, golf, social night, swim and a walking program in collaboration with the YMCA. There are now independent Eagle Mount organizations in Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena, and Billings, Montana. In 2008 Eagle Mount Billings celebrated twenty years of providing adaptive recreation to children and adults with disabilities. Major events conducted: Swim-A-Thon (October); Warren Miller Movie (November); Eagle Fest (March). Equipment available for use: Adapted skiing, Golfing, Swimming and Bicycling; Summer day camps, alpine skiing, cross country skiing, golfing, swimming, bicycling and field and team activities.
