"The mission of the East-Central District Health Department is to complement community Health Services in order to make a positive difference in the quality of life for all individuals within our service area.
The service area of the East-Central District Health Department includes Boone, Colfax, Nance and Platte counties in the state of While services are provided in all four counties, the ECDHD has two main service sites both located in Columbus. The main office is at 2282 East 32nd Ave which hosts most activities. The Community Wellness Center is located at 3806 Howard Blvd and is primarily an exercise facility.
Our goal is to enhance the health of everyone in our service area by working in partnership with area agencies.  We want to help build a healthier community.Our Services are for Everyone – You don't have to have special circumstances such as low income to receive many of our services.  Everyone benefits from public health services that keep our community free from disease.  No one will be denied services at our clinics based on an inability to pay. Our Community Health Center Early Development Program provides services and supports that are designed based on the needs of children and their families with the belief that parents know what is best for their families. The goal of the Early Development Network is to provide coordinated services for families as conveniently as possible. The program helps families to understand their child's disability and provides assistance in dealing with situations that interfere with the child's development. The East Central District Health Department's Early Development Network Services Coordinators cover seven counties in our area to include: Platte, Colfax, Butler, Nance, Polk, Merrick, and Boone. We also offer an Environmental Health Program, and Maternal Child Health Services. "
