"Easter Seals began affiliate operations in Connecticut in 1935 as the Connecticut Society for Crippled Children and Adults, Inc., working primarily with field workers and occupational therapists that treated individuals with disabilities. In 1950, a summer camp was established in Trumbull, CT and named Camp Hemlocks. The camp relocated to Hebron, CT in 1974 and just celebrated its 35th year of operation at its current site with expanded programs and services.

The official affiliate of Easter Seals Connecticut is now doing business as Easter Seals Coastal Fairfield County and has recently moved its administrative offices back to the area in Stamford, CT. The Autism & Developmental Disabilities Center will celebrate its grand opening on December 8th, 2011 in Stamford, CT as well. Starting in 2011, Easter Seals Coastal Fairfield County has started providing services, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising events in the Coastal Fairfield County, Connecticut area."
