"Over the course of a lifetime, we have many different people to thank for their caring and guiding influence in our lives, whether a parent, a teacher, a mentor, a healthcare professional, or some other form of caregiver.  The ones to whom we owe the most are those who were there for us day in and day out, most often a parent or guardian.  Individuals with disabilities present special challenges which don't always allow family and other caregivers the opportunity to simply take a break from responsibility.  Easter Seals Nebraska offers wonderful overnight weekend and weeklong programs for children and adults with disabilities, while giving family and other caregivers the much-needed respite they deserve.  Our Camps and Mini-Camp Respite Weekends are held at the Mid-America Council, Boy Scouts of America's Camp Eagle in Fremont, Nebraska. Week-long Residential Camps for Children and Adults with Disabilities
From campfire sing-a-longs and late night ghost stories, to nature walks, swimming, and arts and crafts, Easter Seals Nebraska camps provide the same excitement and activity available at other summer camp programs. The difference? Easter Seals Nebraska campers experience the joys and challenges of camp in a fully-accessible setting. Campers gain independent and social interaction skills while participating in a variety of fun, adapted activities. Registration:  Participants can begin signing up for camp in January for the following summer.  Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  Mini-Camp Respite Weekends for Children and Adults with Disabilities – Mini-Camp Respite Weekends are sprinkled throughout the year from September through May.  They are designed as a way to give family and/or caregivers a healthy break from the daily challenges of caring for individuals with disabilities, as well as a fun getaway for these loved ones. Registration:  Applications for this program are accepted year-round.  "
