The Epilepsy Foundation North Central Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska will ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will prevent, control and cure epilepsy through services, education, advocacy and research. We serve the states of Iowa and Nebraska and the certain counties in north/central Illinois. In Nebraska, Customized epilepsy education programs are available for a variety of audiences, including: schools and childcare centers; social service providers; businesses; civic and community groups; people with epilepsy and their families. Nebraska volunteers frequently participate in health fairs and other community events. Contact us to make arrangements. The availability of onsite programs varies by location. Where we are not able to provide onsite programs, videos can be loaned. Individualized information and assistance is also provided in such areas as educational advocacy, the Americans with Disabilities Act, access to medication assistance programs, and referral to epileptologists and neuropsychologists. Discovering that they aren't alone is one of the most important experiences that some people affected by epilepsy have. Support groups introduce you to others who understand and share your experience and give you a forum for learning about resources, exploring options, and making new friends.
