The Physical Therapy Department offers services to patients in acute care, swing bed, and on an out patient basis. A wide variety of services are offered to patients for back and neck pain, osteoarthritis conditions, muscle sprains and strains, shoulder and knee injuries, neurological disorders, diabetics complications, gait disturbances, nerve injuries, generalized weakness and deconditioning, with outreach programs in Home Health and sports injuries and screening. Garrison Memorial Hospital has three physical therapists on staff who are ready and able to meet all your physical therapy needs. Garrison Memorial Hospital’s Swing Bed unit, located on the 2nd floor, is a certified program of extended care services for persons not yet able to care for themselves, but who no longer need acute hospital services. It may be considered as an alternative to nursing home placement. Services ranges from emphasis on restoring the resident’s independence to providing care and comfort at the end stages of life. Respite Care is a short-term placement, overnight to 2 weeks, of an individual in our facility for the purpose of providing temporary relief for their care giver. Our facility will provide meals and snacks, assistance with personal cares, medication administration and recreational activities.
