"In the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, HRT provides lift equipped van service commonly known as Handi-Ride.

Hours: Handi-Ride operates 365 days a year. Service is provided during the same hours of operation as the regularly scheduled HRT buses.

Service Area: Handi-Ride service is available within 3/4 of a mile of regularly scheduled bus routes. For more information about service to your specific area, call 757-455-8010.

Who Can Ride: Handi-Ride service is available to certified passengers. To become certified, call 757-222-6087 and request an eligibility application.
