Head Start/Early Head Start of Fayette County
Head Start/Early Head Start of Fayette County is a program of the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. PIC has administered the Early Head Start program in Fayette County for children ages birth to three and their families since 1997.
Implementing the program has provided a foundation for the coordinated delivery of services for low income families and their children. The design of the Early Head Start program is directly related to the relevant physical, social, and community problems evident in the Fayette County area.
Early Head Start reaches out to pregnant mothers and families with children between the ages of 0 and 3.
Head Start serves children ages 3 to 5.
At the Head Start/Early Head Start of Fayette County, we are committed to educating, encouraging, and empowering our families and children. PIC’s Early Head Start program employs a home-based model of service delivery. This model provides home-based services with Family Resource Specialists who provide early childhood educational activities and developmentally sound curriculum during home visits.
