Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN)
Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN) is a nonprofit managed care organization that coordinates care for children and young adults with disabilities and complex medical needs. To be eligible for enrollment with HSCSN, you must receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits or be SSI-eligible. Enrollment in HSCSN is voluntary and those who choose not to join remain in the Medicaid Fee-for-Service program.
Holistic and proactive, HSCSN is a dedicated Medicaid health plan that coordinates all aspects of physical, mental, behavioral and developmental care and services for its members.
HSCSN is a subsidiary of The HSC Foundation, along with The HSC Pediatric Center, and HSC Home Care.

HSCSN provides comprehensive care coordination for every one of our enrollees and our Customer Care Department is dedicated specifically to serving you and your child’s needs.

Department of Family and Community Development (FCD) – The MLK FCD Center provides a multipurpose room for trainings and meetings, child care facilities, family support activities, community resource corner, and Healthy Living Program. The Center is open to walk-in inquiries about HSCSN services, benefits, and resource information.

Provider Services – The HSCSN provider network includes a diverse group of professionals, organizations, and agencies that focus on providing services to children and adolescents with special needs. HSCSN has contracts that specify services and payment terms for each provider. HSCSN, on behalf of the DC Department of Healthcare Finance, reimburses each provider for the services they render to each member/family per the contract terms.
