HeartShare Human Services of New York
HeartShare and its Family of Services have over 100 programs in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island to achieve that mission, reaching nearly 35,000 New Yorkers annually.
HeartShare Human Services and The HeartShare School encourage greater independence for children and adults with intellectual disabilities through residential, educational, health care, employment, life skills and case management, as well as recreational programs. HeartShare Wellness connects people with chronic conditions to medical and related resources to improve quality of life.
HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) empowers children, adults and families to overcome the challenges of family crises, addiction, mental illness and poverty. Developmental Disabities Services From early childhood to adulthood, HeartShare offers people with disabilities greater access to independence. HeartShare evaluates children with developmental delays, so early intervention services, like speech and physical therapy, will help them get off to the right start in life.

Family Support Services
Supporting Families Caring For Loved Ones with a Disability
HeartShare’s Family Support Services offers diverse resources to families taking on the 24/7 responsibility of caring for a loved one with a disability. Through its respite activities, HeartShare enhances quality of life—for the family member who deserves a brief break from daily, attentive care, as well as to the child or adult with a disability, who enjoys the physical, emotional and social benefits of exploring the community with well-trained HeartShare staff and their peers School for Children with Special Needs Opened in 2007,
The HeartShare School utilizes various teaching methodologies to maximize the learning potential of each student. Both Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with 1:1 discrete trial instruction, and the TEACCH approach are used within a self-contained, structured classroom setting. The HeartShare School utilizes the New York City Common Core Curriculum and academic goals are modified to meet each child’s individual needs.
