High Horses Therapeutic Riding Program
NARHA Premier Accredited Center
Contact: Liz Claud
High Horses Therapeutic Riding Program has been serving residents of the Upper Connecticut River Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont since 1993. We are one of only three programs in Vermont whose standards meet the demanding criteria to attain "Premier Accreditation" by Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International. Our trained and professional staff, volunteers, and horses work as a team to provide individualized lessons addressing the physical, emotional, social and cognitive challenges of children and adults with special needs. Each rider's unique strengths and needs are carefully considered. This distinctive experience of acheivement, joy, and community inspires and empowers everyone involved. Our riders range in age from 3 to 92, and have a variety of disabilities ranging from autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays and emotional challenges. Our mission is to bring out the strengths and capabilities of each individual rider, to focus on what our riders CAN do rather than what they cannot.
