The Cheyenne County Hospital is a Medicare Certified Rural Primary Care Hospital offering a wide range of primary and preventive health care services including:
24 hour Emergency Room- Emergency Care Services
Our nurses and physicians treat all types of injuries and illnesses in the emergency room. Patients with severe and multiple injuries are stabilized and, if necessary, can be transported to receive additional attention and support. Ambulance services are vital in emergency situations and we are prepared for the unexpected with coverage through the area.

Diagnostic Services- The Diagnostic Imaging department provides complete computerized services including general radiology and CT scans. We offer MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Bone density via a mobile truck.

Ultrasound – Diagnostic medical sonography uses high frequency sound waves to produce cross-sectional images of the body's internal organs and structures. The reflected soundwave echoes are recorded and displayed as a real-time visual image. No ionizing radiation (x-ray) is involved in ultrasound imaging.

Ultrasound is a useful way of examining many of the body's internal organs, including the heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and bladder. Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show movement of internal tissues and organs and enable physicians to see blood flow and heart valve functions. This can help to diagnose a variety of heart conditions and to assess damage after a heart attack or other illness. The sonographer assist the physician in gathering anatomical, physiological and/or pathologoical sonographic data and images necessary for accurate diagnosis.

Outpatient Surgery – Our Outpatient Surgery Program is based upon your needs. After surgery is complete you can be taken home to recover in the care of loved ones in your own personal surroundings. Most surgeries will require additional appointments or check ups. Some surgeries may also require physical therapy to fully recover. Please check with you doctor about post surgery care.

Physical Therapy – This department offers therapeutic exercise, traction, modalities (ie heat, cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, etc.), activities of daily living, functional, cognitive, or work training and custom orthotic fitting. Cheyenne County Hospital offers physical therapy for patients who are recovering from an injury, operation or other medical procedure. In the future we plan to add personal training and aquatic therapy to our services. Please contact your doctor for a referral to physical therapy.

Swing Bed Program – Extended Stay Options: For those more mature citizens who may need extended nursing care after illness, we offer what's called "swing bed care." Nurses continue to take care of the patient in his or her same room, although a doctor's daily visit isn't necessary. We help you recover at your own pace.
Patient room lifts were added to 6 patient rooms that can move the patients from their bed to a chair and back.
