WIHD advances policies and practices that foster the healthy development and ensure the safety of all children, strengthen families and communities, and promote health and well-being among people of all ages with disabilities and special health care needs.

WIHD partners with people living with disabilities, families, caregivers, advocates and community members from diverse backgrounds in all its activities with a focus on reaching unserved and vulnerable populations. Through our efforts, we seek to advance the principles of self-determination, family and consumer-directed supports, community inclusion, and cultural competence throughout the life span.
