University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities

As part of a national network of similar programs in major universities and teaching hospitals across the country, the Institute is funded under the provisions of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The federal law provides funding to several other Minnesota organizations: the Minnesota Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Minnesota Disability Law Center.  At the Institute, we believe that all persons with developmental and other disabilities should live as valued members of local communities. Through collaborative research, training, and information sharing, we improve policies and practices to ensure that all children, youth, and adults with disabilities are valued by, and contribute to, their communities of choice

The following training, consultation, and production services are available to the public on a fee-for-service basis. Please visit their Web pages for further information:  Services across a lifespan, School-age services, Transition Services, Adult Services
