Jefferson Parish Louisiana Public School System
The Jefferson Parish Public School System is one of the largest districts in the state and is nationally ranked in the top 100 for student enrollment. There are 88 schools located on the East and West banks of Jefferson Parish with a total enrollment of 44,844 students. Pre-kindergarten has 2,689 students with the remaining 42,155 in grades kindergarten through 12.

The Jefferson Parish Public School System Special Programs (JPPSS) Department identifies, locates, assesses, and provides special education services to students with disabilities who reside in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.
The JPPSS Special Programs Department has innovative programs for students with virtually every type of special need. Currently, JPPSS serves more than 5400 students with special needs. The JPPSS Special Programs Department also offers a full range of related services including, but not limited to, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work and assistive technology services
