Kent County Alternative Programs
The Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center (KCSILC) strives to provide students with a safe and orderly learning environment and the tools they need to be successful in school and the community. The KCSILC was the first school in the Capital School District to implement a school-wide Positive Behavior Support program. After the first year of implementation, KCSILC earned the Star School Award from the Delaware PBS project. Additionally, KCSILC offers students a World Drumming program entitled "Drumming for Positive Change". World drumming provides students the opportunity for academic, artistic and emotional and social interactions for all participants. Often, students are given the opportunity to perform in various venues throughout the state. This program has provided students an outlet to showcase their musical talents and pride for their school.
