Kentucky Office for the Blind
The mission of the Kentucky Office for the Blind is to "provide opportunities for employment and independence to individuals with visual disabilities". The Kentucky Office for the Blind serves Kentuckians who are visually impaired or blind and strives to assist individuals to obtain and maintain employment, economic self-sufficiency and independence with complete integration into society. The goal of the Kentucky Office of the Blind is to provide a myriad of resources and quality services which are geared to enhance the lives for Kentuckians with disabilities.The Kentucky Office for the Blind offers a wide variety of services to assist Kentuckians with visual disabilities. Provides statewide services to all 120 counties. Support network consists of 10 field offices located throughout Kentucky in Ashland, Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Florence, Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Paducah, Prestonsburg and Somerset. Examples of support services provided would be: Vocational Rehabilitation, Independent Living Assistance, Orientation, Mobility Assistance and Assistive Technology services.
