Kolburne School
The Kolburne School was established on July 6, 1947 on a twenty-acre estate in Norwalk, Connecticut by Stella and Luma Kolburne and their daughter, Jeane Kolburne Weinstein. The School specialized in the “education, guidance and training of children who, for various reasons, cannot get along satisfactorily in the regular schools.” Kolburne Therapeutic Communities is a relationship-based therapeutic center, residential treatment facility and special education school for children and young adults, ages 8-22, with autism-spectrum, trauma and trauma-related, neuro-developmental, pervasive developmental, and psychiatric disorders.
