"Transportation is important in everyone's life. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a federal civil rights law, requires public transit to be accessible to persons of disability. Accessibility features on Link Transit buses include: lifts or ramps, mobility aid securement locations,  designated priority seating, handrails, stop announcements, stop request devices, public address system, destination and route signs, lighting. Buses operate on fixed schedules so trips can be planned ahead or you can travel at a moment's notice. Link Transit serves major shopping malls, hospitals, clinics, government and social service offices, as well as other points of interest. Riding the bus is easy! Link Transit can provide individuals or groups with Travel Training that teach you to use the bus system and become more mobile and independent. LinkPlus is the name of the service provided by Link Transit that delivers the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandated public transit for those individuals who are unable to use the fixed-route bus service in Chelan and Douglas Counties. LinkPlus is a curb-to-curb shared ride service. It is not cab service, emergency medical or social service transportation. There may be several riders transported at the same time in the same vehicle.
Service Area/Times: LinkPlus service is provided in the same areas the fixed-route bus travels and expands 3/4 of a mile on each side of the route. If you live outside of the service area, you must travel into it on your own.LinkPlus operates on the same time schedule as the fixed-route buses. As a shared ride service, your travel time will be similar to that of a fixed-route bus, not a car or taxi.Transporting Mobility AidsLinkPlus may not be able to transport a wheelchair or mobility aid larger than 30"" wide and 48"" long or weighing more than 600 lbs. when occupied.
