Louisiana LaCHIP – Healthcare for Low Income Uninsured Children
The Louisiana Children’s Health Insurance Program, or LaCHIP, was designed to bring quality health care to uninsured children up to age 19. It is a no-cost health insurance program that pays for children’s hospital care, doctor visits, prescription drugs, shots and more.
Eligibility for the program is based on family size and income. Children can qualify for coverage under LaCHIP using higher income standards than traditional Medicaid. A family of four can earn as much as $44,000 per year and still qualify for LaCHIP coverage for kids
