Louisville – Jefferson County Metro Parks and Recreation – Kentucky
From our historic parks designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, to a new system of parks being planned through the ambitious City of Parks initiative, Louisville’s parks and recreation programs offer something for everyone – breathtaking scenic vistas, nature centers, sports leagues, historic homes, swimming pools, golf courses, community centers, campgrounds, conference centers, and more! Metro Parks serves as the community's largest fitness club, with more than 14,000 acres of natural space as well as specialized recreation programs and facilities, including 16 community centers. The Recreation Division includes a full-time staff of 85 recreation professionals, along with a part-time staff of 60 and a seasonal staff of up to 600.

Adapted Leisure Activities Programs at Metro Parks offer a wide range of recreational activities for individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities, along with their friends and families.
Programs include: Wheelchair Basketball, Aqua Exercise, Bowling, Dances, Assisted Shopping and more.
