Mercy Children’s Hospital and Clinics at Mercy Medical Center
From our 24/7 Pediatric Emergency Department to our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), we’re here for sniffles and stitches as well as advanced pediatric medicine. Pediatric Emergency Department
At Mercy, our dedicated, 24-hour Pediatric Emergency Department is staffed with emergency-trained pediatricians and pediatric nurses to make emergency visits as easy as possible for children and their families.
Variety Pediatric Unit
The experienced pediatric hospitalists at Mercy specialize in providing complete care to children, from newborns to teenagers. Our unit has private rooms for patients and their families.

Variety Club Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The state-of-the-art NICU at Mercy provides family-centered care for more than 600 babies each year.
Iowa’s only full-time child life specialist—along with seven board-certified neonatologists and 100 specially trained nurses—provide in-house care 24 hours a day and support family members during a baby’s stay.
