Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund (MATLF)
The Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund (MATLF) promotes community development by providing financial opportunities to increase independence and quality of life.
The MATLF supports the purchase of technology through low-interest loans and loan guarantees. It is supported through the Michigan Assistive Technology Program.
The MATLF can assist in securing funding to address:
- Hearing
- Dwelling Accessibility Modifications
- Vehicle Modifications & Transportation
- Vision
- Speech & Communication
- Learning, Cognition & Developmental
- Mobility, Seating & Positioning
- Daily Life
- Computer & Related
- Recreation, Sports & Leisure
The MATLF services include:
- Information and Referral for those who inquire about a plan and method to fund their assistive technology needs. The MATLF may recommend sources for identifying alternative equipment and funding, refer individuals to other agencies that may assist them in securing assistive technology equipment and services, or offer other related assistance as needed.
- Build a plan to obtain Assistive Technology through their program. The MATLF can assist with navigating and/or tailoring a program to meet individual needs.
- Application Assistance in applying for programs to acquire Assistive Technology, as well as accessing alternative financial aid and loans.
- Financial Health and Credit Building for applicants and borrowers.
